Tītahi Bay School Pump Track

01 May 2015

Tītahi Bay School is in the small coastal suburb of Porirua. There are 400 kids at the school ranging from new entrants to year six. The school is lucky enough to have a 400m bike track that follows the perimeter of the rugby ground. In 2014 the students raised money for bikes and a modified container to store them in. Following a massive groundswell of participation in cycling the school wanted to extend the students' experience even more and decided to create a pump track on the school grounds. Ground Effect stumped up $1000 towards construction costs. The track is a valued community resource as families from all over Tītahi Bay are welcome to use it. Plans are in place to set up a mtb club and to keep building the kid's skills, experience and passion for biking. Sounds good to us.
