Jamie Filming for TV on the Old Ghost Road

The Old Ghost Road has established itself as one of New Zealand's pre-eminent multi-day backcountry mountain bike adventures. 85km of benched singletrack, 4 purpose-built huts, ladles of history, buckets of volunteer sweat... and deep pockets with the likes of Lotto stumping up cold cash to fund the project. Ground Effect Revolutionary Jamie Nicoll was recently subpoenaed to film this TV clip promoting Lotto's support of the iconic track.

sorry but would prefer less ripping up of the track – as this is not considered to be the correct way to ride and also encourages more damage to track rider and bike would like to see footage of maybe the best way to ride this track —

Good to see they chose the large tarn in Stern Valley to film at… That area at foot of boneyard I found fascinating!

Great promo, but I’d prefer it if Jamie wasn’t showering rocks and leaves as he rides. It’s promoted as a Bike and tramping track but some will look at the way he’s ripping and be put off by it. Such riding is not good for the track either and can’t be condoned for track longevity. (just saying)
