The Townsville Rockwheelers Mtb Club have signed a 10 year permit with the local water authority for access to the Ross Dam Park area. It took 12 months to wriggle through the red tape. The eventual successful outcome was in part due to the water authority's total support for the idea of mountain bikes in the area. It sets a useful precedent for other regions campaigning for access to water storage areas.
The Ground Effect Slush Fund has helped out with funds for a scrub cutter, and excavator hire.
