+More than Kiwi Made
Ground Effect clothing is crafted right here in Aotearoa | New Zealand. Has been ever since we started back in 1994. Manufacturing locally works for us. We operate a quick-response system - holding minimal stock of any one item, but churning out a few more quick-smart when the pile gets low. The upshot is that we are seldom caught with our shelves empty, so orders get despatched the same day you place them.

  • All Ground Effect clothing enjoys a warm 40ºC machine wash. Try to avoid cold-water detergents and those with bleach, 'oxygen whitener' or fabric softener.
    • The cold-water varieties have little enzymes that are super-charged to brave the cold but can damage technical fabrics and cause skin irritation.
    • Bleach rots natural fibres like merino, strips the dye, attacks laminates of waterproof fabrics and can also cause skin irritation.
    • Sodium Percarbonate (the main ingredient in oxygen whitener) can make colours run.
    • Fabric softener and stuff containing it like wool wash destroys the water repellent finish on waterproof and water resistant fabrics, and can cause colours to run.
  • As a rule of thumb, a product that is easy on the planet is also easy on your body. Select a mild plant-based soap like Ecostore, Earthwise or Aware.
  • Hand washing is sometimes the only option on tour, but a washing machine rinses more thoroughly and is preferable if you have the choice.
  • Most Ground Effect gear dries super-fast so hanging on the line or drooping over the bedpost is generally the best option. High heat can damage some fabrics so if you do take your threads for a spin, set the device on 'medium' or 'warm' rather than hot. A lap in the dryer is recommended for your rain jacket, after it has dried on the line, as it helps recharge its water repellent finish.

      Forehead indentation

I love your bandannas However after wearing it all day I’m branded with‘ground effect on my forehead Any chance of the label on the end It actually would be visible all day then Just a thought It is a great product as it absorbs plenty of sweat riding in Cairns My wife loves her New Jersey too Kind regards

      Bandanna review

I had forgotten how good these bandanas are. I had one many many years ago which got lost along the way and having now replaced it I’m wondering why I didn’t get a new one sooner . A great price of kit .

My husband's first GE headband was black, and he wanted more!!! So he had another when his is in the wash. So I bought two more... these are grey... nice, and the label (center front on the headband) is improved. The last one was rigid and would leave an indent on his forehead when he took off his helmet. This one is soft fabric. Good. One of the two headbands was about 8cm shorter than the other, though, and he can just barely tie it about his head!!! Wth... quality control.... He's made another discovery. He wears hearing aids, and when it's a windy hike, he found wearing the headband over his ears under his hat eliminates the wind whistle, yay!!!

      Grey bandanna

I've got three different Ground Effects bandanna's, one from the beginning, the next generation and now this one (there may be other different models that were manufactured, ive been away from cycling for a while). I really like the original model, the next generation just doesn't hold as much sweat and seems shorter, I have no complaint with this style, holds plenty of sweat fits my head and I recond the grey matches my hair
