Bought this to do the Ghost road and it was perfect. Just the right amount of compartments, enough room for a couple of nights kit and sits on your back brilliantly. Highly recommend it. Buster loves his one too.

Best bike-packing bag hands down, tested on the OGR several times over. Great harness system and size is bang on for a 2-3 day trek.

    Osprey Escapist 32

I recently completed The Old Ghost Road and purchased the Osprey Escapist 32 for the two night, three day adventure. It was perfect. We had pretty wet weather and the contents of the pack stayed dry and you could barely tell you had it on your back. I highly recommend this pack.(I also spent two weeks researching the best option) Great item.

Like having a comfortable Tardis strapped to your back

I use this pack for commuting everyday so it's great to have a pack with good volume and storage options. By the time you fill it up, use the external pockets and strap things on you could almost fit your mother in if you needed to get her across town on your back. Very comfortable even when loaded, rides well. I suspect the phone pocket on the shoulder strap was designed for mobiles in the 1990's and may not fit all modern mobiles — but who wants to talk on the phone when you're riding a bike anyway? They'll fit in the hip-belt pockets if you need fast access. My only real critique would be the 'airscape' back ventilation system isn't designed to allow as much airflow as other Osprey & Deuter systems which keep the packs a good inch off your back. But I knew this when I bought it and the compromise with those systems is they often have a curve which cut down the internal storage space a bit and make it a bit trickier to fit flat objects inside. My 13" laptop goes in no probs and the moderate back ventilation is good enough for all except those few hottest days in summer. Best bike-specific pack I've used so far.

    Fantastic pack for epic rides

I bought this pack to ride the Heaphy and other overnight rides. Its got plenty of space and is super comfortable once fully packed. Given the perfect size i plan to use when travelling as a carry on/day pack also.
