Under ya seat waterproof bag for lightweight off-road touring and multi-day mountain biking. Light, stable and voluminous.
▹ How much to pack.
Time of year, terrain and availability of huts all impact on your selection but on a two day-one night summer mtb trip you should easily be able to stash all your food, clothing and emergency kit into the Ortlieb Seat Pack/Handlebar Bag combo. You may choose to supplement those with a small daypack to carry a water bladder, lunch, snacks and evening meal. Check out the Weight Watcher’s Equipment Guide for more.

▹ Packing tips.
Purchased this pack to ride the Old Ghost Road, fed up with carrier bouncing around and coming loose. Performed really well, very stable but it has to be packed nice and tightly and be reasonably full to prevent sagging onto the back wheel with full suspension. Very well made from quality materials and easy to fit/remove.
I used the Ortlieb Seat Pack for the first time recently on the Heaphy Track and Old Ghost Road. It rained for three days and the pack stayed totally dry throughout. This is an excellent, robust design compared to similar units on the market. I used it for carrying food and equipment on the first few days and a sleeping bag on the last few to be absolutely sure my bag stayed totally dry. I'm very glad to have made this purchase given the amount of rain experienced on this trip.
Very happy with my Ortieb seat bag , 100 % water proof and no squeaks or movement issues.
The Ortlierb Seat Pack was perfect for the Old Ghost Road. We got our hut gear and food for 2 people into it. When riding I didn't even know if was there and had no impact on handling. It also passed the west coast rain test with flying colours.
