Like having a comfortable Tardis strapped to your back

I use this pack for commuting everyday so it's great to have a pack with good volume and storage options. By the time you fill it up, use the external pockets and strap things on you could almost fit your mother in if you needed to get her across town on your back. Very comfortable even when loaded, rides well. I suspect the phone pocket on the shoulder strap was designed for mobiles in the 1990's and may not fit all modern mobiles — but who wants to talk on the phone when you're riding a bike anyway? They'll fit in the hip-belt pockets if you need fast access. My only real critique would be the 'airscape' back ventilation system isn't designed to allow as much airflow as other Osprey & Deuter systems which keep the packs a good inch off your back. But I knew this when I bought it and the compromise with those systems is they often have a curve which cut down the internal storage space a bit and make it a bit trickier to fit flat objects inside. My 13" laptop goes in no probs and the moderate back ventilation is good enough for all except those few hottest days in summer. Best bike-specific pack I've used so far.

    Fantastic pack for epic rides

I bought this pack to ride the Heaphy and other overnight rides. Its got plenty of space and is super comfortable once fully packed. Given the perfect size i plan to use when travelling as a carry on/day pack also.

    Best Bag Ever

I love this bag. Its super comfy and ergonomic. I use it as a work commute and it packs loads of stuff into it. And the helmet carrier is a perfect added bonus!!

    Osprey backpack

Love this backpack. It is easy to adjust, lots of different compartments to store stuff. I took it on holiday recently and was very useful as carry on luggage to plane

    Escapist 32

I have the Escapist 32 backpack for several weeks now for commuting by bike between home and work. Once I got used to utilizing the different compartments I find there is enough room to cope with bike repair gear, change of clothing, lunch etc. Found it a bit troublesome to take the laptop in it. My previous bag was better suited to commuting because of this aspect. Can't fault the Escapist 32 in any other way. It fitted me perfectly from day 1 and feels very secure when riding eg it does not slip around on my back and the insulation layer keeps me cool when riding hard. Nice touches are the pouches on the shoulder straps as long as the items are not bulky as it affects how the pack fits to the body. Putting my wallet on one side and the cellphone on the other did cause the pack to sit off centre which felt uncomfortable on the journey. So I only use the pouches for things like earplugs, loyalty cards etc. I also found the clipon for keys handy. All in all a great backpack I happily recommend to others. Just think of all the uses you might put the backpack for before committing to a purchase.
