Last Christmas, my little blister sent me one of your Ristretto merino vests. While I do regularly cut a swath through the streets of London on my mountain bike, it's rarely wearing my Ristretto. Occasionally I swap slicks for knobblies and escape to one of the forests on the outskirts of the city, but my Ristretto seldom goes there either.Clubbing and dancing zouk-lambada is where the top works its magic. Surprisingly, dancing is a hi-energy activity... and it's close, very close. Brazil is home to zouk-lambada. The weather is hot and the girls show a lot of skin. To help the local girls do their bit, London clubs crank the heating to replicate a Brazilian summer. It is said that girls glow rather than sweat. But us boys definitely sweat - not great when getting up-close with a ******** clad woman. The 'I've just run a marathon, smell like an old trainer and am likely to drip all over you' look is a sure way to be sentenced to a night of dancing alone. Somehow the Ristretto's magic merino blend disguises any sweat. And somehow its wicking ability means that the game isn't up when a girl gets close. Even when sweating like the afore mentioned marathon runner, it still feels pretty much dry. And it does all this without the plastic feel of other sportswear.Mmmm - maybe I should get a second one for riding me bike after all.
Big fan of the ristretto, I have had a succession of them over the last decade. I really rate the sleeveless style for versatility. I choose to wear it when there is a chance of changing weather - which is pretty much always in NZ. Enough to cut through the chill, but not too bulky to be a pain if things warm up. An absolute essential for road or mtb. Usual Ground Effect quality construction.
Great fit and works well as an extra layer without being bulky or overheating you, especially in the cold we've had this winter in Melbourne
It is so comfortable I’ve taken to wearing it on cold days under normal clothing. It doesn’t bunch up, the sleeve linings are smooth and the fabric warm so it fits well under a normal shirt & jacket and keeps me nice and warm. Oh, and I use it when cycling on cold mornings too!
I buy all your products for my son- in- law..he loves the Restretto top because it's a good layering top and it's made of good quality merino.
