We operate a quick-response system - holding minimal stock of any one item, but churning out a few more quick-smart when the pile gets low. The upshot is that we are seldom caught with our shelves empty, so orders get despatched the same day you place them.

- All Ground Effect clothing enjoys a warm 40ºC machine wash. Try to avoid cold-water detergents and those with bleach, 'oxygen whitener' or fabric softener.
- The cold-water varieties have little enzymes that are super-charged to brave the cold but can damage technical fabrics and cause skin irritation.
- Bleach rots natural fibres like merino, strips the dye, attacks laminates of waterproof fabrics and can also cause skin irritation.
- Sodium Percarbonate (the main ingredient in oxygen whitener) can make colours run.
- Fabric softener and stuff containing it like wool wash destroys the water repellent finish on waterproof and water resistant fabrics, and can cause colours to run.
- As a rule of thumb, a product that is easy on the planet is also easy on your body. Select a mild plant-based soap like Ecostore, Earthwise or Aware.
- Hand washing is sometimes the only option on tour, but a washing machine rinses more thoroughly and is preferable if you have the choice.
- Most Ground Effect gear dries super-fast so hanging on the line or drooping over the bedpost is generally the best option. High heat can damage some fabrics so if you do take your threads for a spin, set the device on 'medium' or 'warm' rather than hot. A lap in the dryer is recommended for your rain jacket, after it has dried on the line, as it helps recharge its water repellant finish.

I wasn't sure what to expect put these turned out to be fantastic, so easy to put on and take off when you warm up. Probably should've got the size smaller as they do stretch during the day. Would very much recommend if cycling on colder days.

Keep the old knees warm
Great for biking to work at 5.30am when it's 2 degrees outside as keeps the old squash knees warm with minimal extra weight and then easy to throw in the backpack for the ride home in the afternoon when it's warmed up and not required. Feel a bit strange the first time you wear them but really comfortable when biking and stay up no problem. A great product as we've come to expect from Ground Effect!

Great product that works in keeping the knees toasty warm in sub-zero conditions as a base layer.They did not fall down and stayed in place even after hours on the bike. Highly recommend to others.

not as good a fit for me as expected
ordered size small (given that I recently ordered new witches britches and they were very tight), but perhaps not designed for my shapely pins! very tight around the thigh gripper (sausage leg effect) and pretty loose everywhere else. Also, longer than expected given the name Kneecaps. All in all, not a good fit on me.

Ground Effect
Hi Janice. The difference between the Knee Caps and the Half Pipes is the Knee Caps don't cover the lower leg. You do need to hitch them well up the thigh, under your shorts to get them to sit in position. Hope this helps. Pedal on, Ernie

Amazingly warm and versatile. I ride everyday and the Ground Effect Knee Caps have become my new best friend in the cold winter months. They keep you warm and are super fast drying, when one has to contending with rain, sleet, and hail. I have also found them to be an additional source of warmth at work, when early morning starts require an additional layer without having to carry extra clothing. Thank you Ground Effect, perfect for riding, and will be taking these tramping as well.
