Kombi Resurrection

Back in June, Ground Effect's beloved 1972 Kombi was stolen and chopped up for parts. There was much wailing as well as touching expressions of grief and horror from our extended whanau. A bunch of our sponsored 'Revolutionaries' whipped the hat around and secured a 1:16 scale Lego version of our departed friend. And the likeness is remarkable - starting with factory Niagra Blau paint job on the bricks through to camping details like the rock n roll bed.

Steve and Erin spent several weeks working on the 2207 pieces and 330 pages of assembly instructions. It rolled off the assembly line a few days ago. Tears were shed and a semblance of Zen calm returned to our world.
