Deane and Rose belt out a two day bikepacking adventure right on Christchurch’s back doorstep - skirting around the extinct volcano that forms Lyttelton Harbour on the Banks Peninsula.
It’s a leisurely lift-assist start at the Christchurch Adventure Park followed by classic Port Hills' singletrack, a liaison stage on the Diamond Harbour Ferry and a grind up Mt Herbert before overnighting at Port Levy.
Homeward bound the next day via Mt Herbert again, some grovel around the back of Mt Bradley to reach the historic Sign of the Packhorse hut, Gebbies Pass, and back to the Adventure Park for groomed trails, pizza and beer.
