The Southland Mountain Bike Club created a 15 km network of trails on Motupōhue/Bluff Hill. There is something for everyone with single track cross-country trails, access trails, and a downhill trail which offers plenty of line options to cater for less committed riders, whilst still satisfying the risk takers. Way back in 2010 they completed a 4.5 km single track climb, finishing off a challenging but not insurmountable track to the top of the hill proffering outrageous views of Rakiura/Stewart Island. The Slush Fund came to the party with some building materials for bridges and signage on Motupōhue/Bluff Hill.

The club also manages 20 km of trail at Sandy Point, and the Hokonui Bikers Club - a division of the Southland Mtb Club, have created trails in the Croydon Bush area 10 minutes from Gore.
