Harakeke MTB Park - Wanganui

The Harakeke Mountain Bike Park officially opened back in March 2012. To quote Frank from the club "It's mostly been all sweat equity but thanks to Ground Effect for the cash to buy our scrub cutter".  

Fast forward 2015 and the Rangitikei iwi Ngāti Apa has resumed ownership of the land it is on and decided to farm it.

Knowing Harakeke would close, the club went looking for land elsewhere. It's now made some easier tracks for younger bikers at Hyltons Pit. Also check out the riding at the Araheke Mtb Park.
