Rotorua Mountain Bike Club

The Ground Effect Slush Fund has been at it again. This time in Rotorua contributing $1000 towards the build of the new ‘Rocky Horror’ themed trails in Whakarewarewa Forest. The tracks were part of the Rotorua round of the Enduro World Series. Trail stats as follows: Time Warp 0.8km, 60m ascent; Frankin Furter 0.4km, 65m descent; Riff Raff 1.0km, descent 170m; Dammit Janet 0.4km, 60m descent; Rocky Horror 1.0km, 105m descent.

The Rotorua MTB Club was formed at the start of the 1990s just as the first mountain bike specific trails began to appear in the Whakarewarewa Forest. The club has overseen the development of a world-class network of around 150km of trail, flowing and undulating through a unique landscape and environment, just minutes from town.
