Expensive but it will see me out! Well made - love the extra long sleeves and the variety of zips to allow ventilation. Hood works well - very happy.
I ordered the Anti Cyclone yesterday and it was on my doorstep in Auckland this morning ready for the days severe weather warnings. Got an excellent opportunity to test it out in torrential rain on my commute to and from work. Preformed fantastically, no water got in. The only damp was from sweat as it was too wet to open the vents. Very stoked with my purchase. Looking forward to really putting it to the test when I attempt S2S in the middle of the coming winter.
The only cycling jacket I’ve ever owned that consistently copes with the Scottish weather. Fantastic kit. Beats Gore-tex, the go-to performance material in the northern hemisphere hands down. The minute this one’s knackered, I’ll be getting another
After nearly 10 years hard wear my trusty Mountain Designs Gore-Tex soft shell was finally giving away at the seams. Having kept me dry and cool through the mountains of Nepal, over the Scottish Cairngorms and around a couple of Icelandic volcanoes; sad but true its time was done. Now the Anti Cyclone is not cheap, but a wise old man (or woman) once said “Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten”. Case in point. The Anti Cyclone: - is made in New Zealand, tick - is well ventilated to keep you cool, tick - has a long tail feather to keep the slop off your butt, tick - the sleeves are long, but this works when your arms are stretched (you can always roll them up), tick - keeps you drier than a dingo’s donger in a dust storm, tick - lives up to GroundEffects quality of design, functionality and material, tick I'm looking forward to the next ten years with my Anti Cyclone from the crew at GroundEffect Ken
