Jacket seems very well made and robust. Keeps the cold out. Love the bum bag conversion for short rides in winter, makes it really easy to carry the jacket and a snack without needing any other bags. Fit is a bit loose for my liking, shoulders tend to catch the wind compared with a more fitted cycling jacket. I guess that is designed to allow extra layers to fit under in the cold, but given how windproof the shell is you don't need much under it even in pretty cold conditions. Not sure about the white trim on the wrists, it will soon be stained with mud and bike grease.
Great coat. Used extensively on a tour to ward off have rain and keep away the freezing wind. Not sure if I will use the bum-bag conversion much, but it's not a problem. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the pocket zip looks a little week. Time may prove me wrong. Two other riders on the tour had the same jacket and have had no problems.
After much last-minute deliberating we finally bought our Storm Trooper jackets - complete with hoods and a perfect fit. We've just returned from a month's road/cycling trip in the South Island. Our jackets went everywhere and provided full protection against wind and rain - best buy ever. Highly recommended - thank you. John & Lyn
Yesterday was the first time it rained and I have a mobility scooter and the hood was great as the cut of the hood was better than all the other makes because of the shape.permitted me to see all around quite clearly without the blinker effect I have experienced with other brands. I have done the Remutaka rail trail on the scooter the Kaitoke end to Cross Creek and so obviously I enjoy getting out and about every day even on a very wet one.
