I used to get cold toes and fingers cycling in early mornings - now it’s just the toes I have to work on. These gloves a good for rain and wind but, unsurprisingly, struggled with a -5 ride I did one morning. Note the large is not overly generous so if you are between sizes, go up one. The fingers fitted well but the thumb was a bit tighter.
I've been after some winter gloves to replace my much loved Ground Effect winter gloves that are now about 10 years old and have developed a split in a seam. These seemed an ideal option given they are both warm and waterproof. Firstly, they are definitely waterproof - well tested in that regard. Secondly, they are definitely warm. A couple of wee niggles that are worth pointing out though - they are not exceptionally breathable and i have found my hands getting wet from the inside. I have managed this by using them with a pair of polypropelene liner gloves and they are now perfect - warm and dry from both directions. The second thing I found is the finger length is quite long and there is definitely an overhang between where my fingers end and the end of the glove. Not a major issue but worth noting. So, 4/5 for these without the prolypropelene liners and 5/5 with them.
It's amazing and so comfortable to wear, kept my hand warm and dry.
These gloves are anything but waterproof! I was in a brief shower and my hands got soaked. It was then very difficult getting them on again later due to the inner layer being hard to get fingers in.
Hi Robin. Sounds like they are not doing the trick for you. We need to take a look at them. Could you fire them back to us in the post: Freepost 1861, Ground Effect, PO Box 4536, Christchurch. Pedal on. Ernie
