Major-General 'Cotter-Pin' Bounding-Carruthers

Following his retirement from a long and distinguished career in the Royal Engineers, Major-General Sir Jeremy 'Cotter-Pin' Bounding-Carruthers, K.C.M.G., D.S.O., MC., discovers that his Army pension is inadequate to support the extravagances of his newfound civilian lifestyle. Here he rummages amongst the post-war relics in the implement shed of his ancestral home, in an endeavour to design and build a more economical form of transport.
