At least once a season I try to ride the Heaphy Track. Usually it’s our annual family trip - although it’s been a few years now since we all rode it together. This season the stars aligned and all four of us had a delightful, albeit wet few days on this historic singletrack stretching across the top of the South Island. Check out some of my musings on choice of gear for these multi-day backcountry trips in changeable conditions.
