Sidle 73 track in the Craigieburn Forest Park was built by a great bunch of Ground Effect customers over a weekend just before Xmas in 2012. We had a blast and really enjoyed the company - a big massive thank you for all your effort - it's hard physical work blazing a trail. Snowline Lodge at Mt Cheeseman Skifield was booked for Saturday night, Ground Effect kept the crew fed n' watered. We did get dirty, and the weather came to the party this time round. Plenty of riding was had too.
The Craigieburn Forest Park track network lies just an hour and a half (by car) west of Christchurch in the foothills of the Southern Alps. A blend of high country and beech forest singletrack, it is outrageously good mountain biking in a stunning location.
'Sidle 73' connects the Cave Stream campground with the Craigieburn Ski Field access road, avoiding 1.5km of tarmac on State Highway 73.
All the info on building and riding the Craigieburn Trails can be found at Craigieburn Trails.
