A recent Ground Effect blog post on riding the Munda Biddi inspired the Munda Biddi Trail Foundation to request some funds from the Slush Fund to purchase equipment for their trail maintenance volunteers. With over 1000km of trail to maintain a couple of Bob trailers were sourced on Facebook Marketplace, perfect for transporting tools. $2000 later Munda Biddi have two trailers plus a new Stihl cordless pruner and accessories including a couple of new hard hats.
The trailers had a previous life with Munda Biddi End-to-End riders Ian and Kate Pelly. To make the trailers fit for purpose, Munda Biddi teamed up with the Bassendean Men’s Shed, whose members designed and built custom wooden frames for each Bob trailer. These frames allow volunteers to safely carry and secure tools when working along the 1,060-km trail. The result is a pair of practical, purpose-built tool trailers that have already improved the efficiency and safety of our on-trail maintenance days.
This partnership has connected riders, community groups, and volunteers, all with the shared goal of keeping the Munda Biddi Trail in great condition for everyone to enjoy. Keep an eye out for the trailers if you find yourself 'Munda Biddi Meandering'.

The Munda Biddi Trail Foundation supports riders, coordinates volunteers, and informs the community about their one-of-a-kind bikepacking trail that stretches over 1000km from Mundaring to Albany in South-West Western Australia.
