As a long term fan of ground effects gear they were my first choice for a new waterproof cycling jacket and the rivet looked like the perfect choice. After a considerable amount of research across many brands I ended up back with ground effects - quality, tech performance and price were all superior. I love the jacket, lightweight but durable and a great fit - its been perfect for this winter of constant rain - no more excuses for not getting on the bike!!!
i have only used the new product once so far and it has delivered exactly what i wanted. A good fit, comforatable to wear and warm against Auckland's strong easterly winds along the waterfront. strong colours make it easily seeable from a drivers perspective hence safer in amongst traffic. overall very satisfied against a much earlier model that has finally passed it use by date after 20 plus years service. Keep up the good work and exellent products and i will continue to remain a keen supporter
As soon as I put the Rivet on I knew it was a well designed and good quality jacket. It's true to size, lightweight and moves well with my body. The neck collar is perfect for keeping water off my neck and chin while the Whale tail stopped mud flicking up under the back. I thought the thumb-hooks would be annoying but I like the way they can be folded under the edge of the sleeves. It also doesn't have those annoying zips that get caught in the front lining. I tested the Rivet out riding the Timber Trail in five hours of steady rain. I was completely dry underneath with minimal sweating. It also dried fast hanging on a hook in my room. Impressive. Everyone I know recommends Ground Effect clothing and they're not wrong. Absolutely worth the money.
I bought the Rivet for touring as it is reasonably packable and light weight. I have a 45” chest and a 38” waist and the XL fits nicely so the size chart was accurate. I’m a larger rider and the racing fit of many jackets doesn’t work for me and the Rivet is sensibly cut and is comfortable. The fabric is pleasant against the skin, not cold and clammy as with many other jackets. My one criticism is the pocket which I wish was on the back not on the chest.
