+FAQ
+How waterproof are these gloves?
  • The fabric is completely waterproof, but if you are riding in persistent and/or heavy rain - water will eventually run down your arms and sneak into your gloves.
  • Also with extended exercise in warmish conditions you are likely to overload the breathable membrane and get sweaty/damp hands.
  • So not bulletproof, but in those conditions they will still keep your hands drier than standard gloves.
+Washing

  • All Ground Effect clothing enjoys a warm 40ºC machine wash.
    • As a rule of thumb, a laundry product that is easy on the planet is also easy on your body. Select a mild plant-based soap like  Ecostore,Earthwise orAware.
    • Hand washing is sometimes the only option on tour, but a washing machine rinses more thoroughly and is preferable if you have the choice.
    • Avoid cold-water detergents and those with bleach, 'oxygen whitener' or fabric softener.
      • The cold-water varieties have little enzymes that are super-charged to brave the cold but can damage technical fabrics and cause skin irritation.
      • Bleach rots natural fibres like merino, strips the dye, attacks laminates of waterproof fabrics and can also cause skin irritation.
      • Sodium Percarbonate (the main ingredient in oxygen whitener) can make colours run.
      • Fabric softener and wool wash destroy the water repellent finish on waterproof fabrics, and can also cause colours to run.
    • Most Ground Effect gear dries super-fast, so hanging on the line or draped over the bedpost is generally the best option.
      • High heat can damage some fabrics so if you do take your threads for a spin in the dryer, set the device on 'medium' or 'warm' rather than hot.
      • A dryer is recommended for your rain jacket or pants, as it helps recharge the water repellant treatment on the outside of the fabric.

        Warm yet bulky

Amazing insulation, just little manoeuvrability once hand are in! To for instance ride the bike :). That's all. Thank you so so so much.

        Perfect for dry, cold rides.

I've had a great opportunity to try out these gloves in our current cold spell in Central. They work really well, kept my hands warm and have enough maneuverability with the 2 claws to work the gears, brakes etc. My only suggestion for women is don't get the next size up as recommended by other male reviewers - I did that and they were way too big. Got a very quick turnover from GE to get the right size - thanks!

        gloves

I tried these gloves but the sizing was a bit out so I swapped them for the five finger water proof glove which I have had before, & on a rainy cold day they are delicious

Great gloves for those midwinter rides !

Got these for a midwinter night ride around Christchurch. temperature below zero, occasional light drizzle. Hands stayed warm, hands stayed dry, just what I wanted. They are probably too much for normal commuting around town (too warm) but ideal for freezing winter trips

        Extreme all weather Gloves

They are good. I have be wearing ski mittens as I do get very cold fingers. The gloves are good. But I think I needed a bigger size. My fingers aren’t as warm as my ski mittens. But they do look a lot better
