Maximum protection for cycling in nasty conditions. Waterproof liner repels moisture, insulation repels cold and lobster claw design allows your fingers to keep each other warm while maintaining dexterity to hang onto handlebars and brake levers.

  • Water resistant, windproof, breathable and insulated.
  • SealSkinz® ADD waterproof liner with anti-slip for enhanced dexterity.
  • Climashield® insulation for added warmth.
  • Neoprene cuff with velcro tab seals at wrists.
  • Lobster claw style for warmth and cycling dexterity.
  • Pressure point gel padding.
  • Reflective panel for safety at night.
  • Tight gloves mean cold hands - if in doubt choose up a size.
  • Made by SealSkinz in China.
  • Weight: 180 grams.
+How waterproof are these gloves?
  • The fabric is completely waterproof, but if you are riding in persistent and/or heavy rain - water will eventually run down your arms and sneak into your gloves.
  • Also with extended exercise in warmish conditions you are likely to overload the breathable membrane and get sweaty/damp hands.
  • So not bulletproof, but in those conditions they will still keep your hands drier than standard gloves.

  • All Ground Effect clothing enjoys a warm 40ºC machine wash. Try to avoid cold-water detergents and those with bleach, 'oxygen whitener' or fabric softener.
    • The cold-water varieties have little enzymes that are super-charged to brave the cold but can damage technical fabrics and cause skin irritation.
    • Bleach rots natural fibres like merino, strips the dye, attacks laminates of waterproof fabrics and can also cause skin irritation.
    • Sodium Percarbonate (the main ingredient in oxygen whitener) can make colours run.
    • Fabric softener and stuff containing it like wool wash destroys the water repellent finish on waterproof and water resistant fabrics, and can cause colours to run.
  • As a rule of thumb, a product that is easy on the planet is also easy on your body. Select a mild plant-based soap like Ecostore, Earthwise or Aware.
  • Hand washing is sometimes the only option on tour, but a washing machine rinses more thoroughly and is preferable if you have the choice.
  • Most Ground Effect gear dries super-fast so hanging on the line or drooping over the bedpost is generally the best option. High heat can damage some fabrics so if you do take your threads for a spin, set the device on 'medium' or 'warm' rather than hot. A lap in the dryer is recommended for your rain jacket, after it has dried on the line, as it helps recharge its water repellant finish.

  • Items are generally packed and sent the same day your order is received.
  • Costs $9 by overnight courier within New Zealand.
  • NZ$12 by tracked airmail to Australia.
  • Around NZ$15-25 by tracked airmail to destinations elsewhere in the world - calculated in our shipping cart as you check out.

Great gloves for those midwinter rides !

Got these for a midwinter night ride around Christchurch. temperature below zero, occasional light drizzle. Hands stayed warm, hands stayed dry, just what I wanted. They are probably too much for normal commuting around town (too warm) but ideal for freezing winter trips

They are good. I have be wearing ski mittens as I do get very cold fingers. The gloves are good. But I think I needed a bigger size. My fingers aren’t as warm as my ski mittens. But they do look a lot better

      XL too small

I purchased the XL since there was no larger size,, but they are a really tight fit. Being so tight the inner layer gets clammy and sticky and are hard to get off. Don’t seem to breath as well as suggested. The finger length is too short, so I found my fingers jammed up against the end of the glove which was uncomfortable and cold since there was no room to retain a layer of warm air. Otherwise the rest of my hands kept warm In temperatures below zero (-8 was probably the coldest I used them in), and would have been too warm for temperatures above zero. Construction is good.

      extreme weather gloves

I normally buy large size and these are notably small for the size thus being a pain to put on. They are ok for warmth but not as good as Ski gloves ;so I would not buy them again.

      Warm hands

These gloves are warm and comfortable. I recommend a loose fit is best I’ve used them in the rain and they worked well. It didn’t take long to get used to the split fingers on my drop bar levers.
