Back in 2017 Spirit of Coromandel Trust first contacted Ground Effect about setting up the Coromandel Bike Park, with the intention of building trails for walkers and bikers, plus providing a hub for local young people.
One of the areas we will concentrate on will be youth at risk, challenging them to look at new directions for a more positive future giving them the skills to enable them to make the right decisions when faced with difficulties.
The Ground Effect Slush Fund was super happy to provide the cash for the purchase of a brush cutter, plus we fired a a copy of the IMBA 'Trail Solutions’ track building guide their way. Good things take time, and as of May 2021 the trust and Ride Coromandel are about to start construction on the xc trails, and Slush Fund has helped out with cash for materials to build the Kauri Dieback Wash Station.
Here’s a before pic, plus fast forward to 2021 and the Ground Effect Slush Fund helped out with $1300 for materials to construct a Kauri Dieback Wash Station for bikes and riders.
