Uenuku Pines - National Park

21 July 2022

The club has a license to operate in the Uenuku Pines Forest. Extensive logging of the mature trees has destroyed 80% of the trails built over the last decade. The volunteer track rebuilding team asked for funding to buy tools to expedite the track rebuild program. The crew used the $2000 from the Slush Fund to purchase an electric wheelbarrow and reciprocating saw to bolster the tools they bring from home.

The Ruapehu District is constantly developing trails to cater to a variety of bike riders. The Mountains to Sea - Ngā Ara Tūhono website contains loads of information on where to ride.

Back in 2013 The Ground Effect Slush Fund paid for the truck and digger hire to clear the site for the pump track at Te Pepe Bike Park.

The Ruapehu Mtb Club is run by local volunteers who just love to ride mountain bikes and encourage others to join them. Follow the club on Facebook, Instagram @ruapehumtbclub and www.ruapehumtb.nz.
