In the early 2000s the Eurobodalla Cycling Club maintained the Maulbrooks Mtb Tracks in Mogo State Forest, 15 km from Batemans Bay. Fast forward to 2023 and a 150 km network of mtb trails plus the Mogo Adventure Trail Hub were under construction. In 2025 Mogo will host the iconic Sea Otter event.

The Dunghutti Sport and Recreation Indigenous Corporation and the Kempsey Macleay Off Road Cyclists formed a partnership in 2012 to extend the local trail network around Kempsey, north of Port Macquarie, NSW.

In 2010 the Mid Canterbury Mtb Club were kept busy clearing 25 km of old trail next to the Ashburton/Hakatere River to create a riding trail. Now known as Mtb Ashburton the club manages three local riding areas.

Off road biking in Marlborough keeps getting better. In March 2023 the 42 km Te Ara Tuhono Link Pathway connecting Picton to Havelock, with a side trail to Anakiwa (the trailhead of the Queen Charlotte Track) is complete.
