Slush Fund

The Rata-Tui Restoration Trust is the owner of the Motupipi Hill Block in Golden Bay. The Trust had a busy 2016 building Grade 2 mountain bike tracks popular with non-technical riders. The Ground Effect Slush Fund donated $1500 cash, put to good use on digger hire to complete the La Rambla Track.

Simon Kennet, Chair of Mākara Peak Supporters Inc. put the call out in 2016 for some funds to help purchase an e-barrow for shifting dirt to build up berms and switchbacks, and gravelling. The Ground Effect Slush Fund said yes with $1000. Apparently it's made a huge difference to volunteer enthusiasm.

The Yackandandah Mtb Track network in NE Victoria has named a 17.2km trail after us, the 'Ground Effect Loop'. The Slush Fund helped out with cash for trail maps, and supplied IMBA books so they could build a sustainable network of cross-country mtb trail.

In late 2016 the Tumut Mountain Bike Riders approached the Ground Effect Slush Fund for a cash contribution towards their project to improve signage in the Tumut Mountain Bike Park.

Project Rameka in Golden Bay has been waging an ongoing crowdfunding campaign to double the size of the Project Rameka Carbon Forest.

The Kalamunda Mountain Bike Collective hang out on the outskirts of Perth in WA. The Collective is the custodian of a mtb trail network in Kalamunda and surrounding areas, which comprises of over 46km of single track situated in National Park and State Forest.

The Tunnel Gully Bike Trails are part of the Tunnel Gully Recreation Area, nestled at the foot of Mount Climie in Kaitoke Regional Park just north of Upper Hutt.

The Ground Effect Slush Fund has supported a number of Bike Taupō projects from as far back as 2003.

The Amberley Area Cycle Trail project, led by the Hurunui Trails Trust links the communities of Amberley, Leithfield and their beach townships, as well as providing safe and accessible cycle/pathways for recreational use.

Brooklyn Trail Builders are the team behind the 'Serendipity' downhill trail in Waimapihi Reserve, and the recently opened 'Clinical' trail.

Club members and volunteers have been busy constructing sustainable trails to IMBA standards to create the Cradle Coast MTB Park.

Te Anau Cycling Inc was formed back in 2011. One of its objectives is to work with council and volunteers to develop the potential for Ivon Wilson Park in Te Anau to become a mountain biking destination.
